We source important timepieces

You may love your Apple watch, but you may also appreciate the value of a high-end mechanical timepiece. We are high-end watch experts. We have bought and sold over $100,000 of wristwatches and are always looking for deals. We specialize in important timepieces. While we generally keep a very low inventory, we can find watches like these at good prices for our clients.

We propose that whenever you buy a watch, you should give the same amount to your favorite charity, so whenever you look at your wrist, you can think of the people you helped — both in the factory and in another part of the world.

Whether you’re climbing Mt Kilimanjaro* or attending a state dinner, we want to help find the right watch for you — one you will enjoy wearing and maintaining for decades. We want you to get the maximum value from our service. Many high-end watches aren’t worth buying. An example would be a manual-wind watch that you won’t wear every day — you’d have to reset the thing every time you put it on. We won’t help you find a silly or ugly watch, no matter how expensive it is.

We can probably save you more than we cost — in time, money, or both. We guarantee authenticity. We have excellent service people who can restore or maintain any watch. We hand-deliver any watch over $150,000.

Unless specified otherwise, all our watches feature display backs.

Men’s timepieces

Lange 1 Moonphase, platinum

This manual-wind 38.5mm watch was completely redesigned and re-issued in 2017. We can get either the first or second version of this stunning timepiece. Earlier version shown.

$47,000 to $60,000

Officine Panerai PAM72

One of 1500 made, this 2002 38mm platinum/stainless sport watch has been used and recently completely overhauled. It contains the Zenith El Primero movement, which makes it pre-Vendome: a very unusual and collectible Panerai. Comes with a 1-year warranty.

This watch is in-stock. The movement is immaculate, and the case is in 8/10 condition. $6500

Langematik perpetual, platinum

A spectacular automatic in 38mm that will hold its value for the next generation. I take my langematik skydiving and to the black-tie dinner that evening. Also comes in a Lange-1 version if you like winding.

$47,000 to $100,000

Lange 1815 perpetual rattrapante

One of the few watches in the world that almost wants to be in rose gold, but it also comes in platinum and honeygold (a hard gold alloy). This is a very limited-edition piece (depends on the case metal). Manually wound, 42mm. A watch of this pedigree and calibre will take months to find and will be priced near $300,000.

Lange 31 days

This 47mm monster uses two separate springs and a special winding key to provide a power reserve of 31 days! It’s understated, yet one of the true German muscle watches. This watch is only suitable for a man with an ultra-large wrist and ultra-refined taste. It must be your every-day watch, as it makes no sense to wind it for occasional wearing. A very difficult watch to find — expect to pay $100-200,000. Extra charge for us to come wind it for you on the 1st of every month.

Franck Mueller Crazy Hours

A 32mm wide automatic, the hour hand on this watch jumps around the face all day, so you read the time by looking at the numbers, not by the position on the dial. Comes in many variations. Another FM watch puts the numbers in reverse order and tells time backward! Straps are nice, but the FM bracelets are buttery smooth.

$10-100k

Jaeger-Lecoultre Duetto

Another quartz watch we love for its versatility. You get two watches in one, with a “day” face and an “evening” face. The faces flip using a unique ball-bearing mechanism. This stainless steel bracelet is not expensive, yet feels like silk and looks great everywhere. There are many Duettos and other JL masterpieces — we would be happy to discuss your needs and find you your next watch.

Patek Philippe 5396

This automatic watch stands out for its sheer bravado in watchmaking. Understated, practical, and one of the flagships of the Patek line. Comes in white and rose gold. If you don’t want to wear this every day, get a different watch or keep it on a winder, as you won’t be able to reset it easily.

Officine Panerai PAM715

This automatic 44mm watch debuted in 2021 and sports the in-house micro-rotor with power reserve and month + leap year on the back. Comes in platinum or gold. A spectacular, cutting-edge watch that will hold its value. Should be around $75k.

Officine Panerai PAM986

Designed in the 1940s for Italian commandos, the 2-barrel 8-days movement was re-imagined and released as the first modern Panerai in-house movement in 2005. Then, in 2015, they released the three-barrel ten-day movement. It’s big. It’s beefy. It’s affordable. The GMT hand jumps 1 hour forward or backward for easy setting. And you’ll have ten days to remember to wind it. One of my favorite Panerais.

Around $12,000

Women’s timepieces

Cartier Tank Francaise

We don’t recommend many quartz watches, but this classic watch ticks all the boxes. Equally at home on the golf course or the charity event, the stunning bracelet and cabochon make this a fantastic every-day watch.

About Rolex watches

We don’t recommend Rolex for men. Rolex is a mid-market department-store brand that is chronically overvalued. But in Italy, most women wear a Rolex as an every-day, knock-around watch. Wear the biggest size your wrist can handle. A small man’s version is very popular. If you choose an automatic, make sure you are active or shake it to keep it wound.
